Avid Bbt Caliper Dimensions
Following on from my earlier post, in case someone searches this subject, I have now found that allows you to use a normal calliper with a 185mm Avid rotor on a PM fork. It’s North Shore Billet so it ain’t exactly cheap, but it’s very nice quality and it’s properly faced. I now have one holding a Shimano calliper in the right place on an Avid rotor and it’s all working very smoothly.For the record, I tried using the Avid adaptor and it is technically possible to get it set up if you use shorter bolts (I used the shorter bolt from the 185mm adaptor and a bolt from a 160mm PM adaptor). However, the faces on the Avid adaptor aren’t faced square to the mount – the Avid cup/cone washers don’t need it to be perfectly square.
You end up with gaps on one side of the faces where the calliper meets the adaptor. I suspect this would lead to damage if you ran it like that for long, and snapping brake callipers/adaptors aren’t my idea of fun.

The Shimano branded 180mm post mount to post mount adapter that I bought recently came with a set of special dished washers that the instructions tell you to put under the supplied longer bolts. These dished washers are just like the ones on Juicy brakes.
If you put the dished washers between the Shimano caliper and the adapter it fits fine on an Avid 185mm disc. The washers fitted in this position move the caliper the extra 5mm. Special edition skyrim mods download.
