It's strange to think it since the name doesn't start with Gwyn but the faraam armor was named after 'A god of war', the sun's 1st born, aka nameless king is reffered to once have been the god of war but. The faraam armor does say 'A' god of war and Farossa (home of the faraam knights) is probably far away from lordran so. I really doubt it myself to be his real name along with the whole, 'his name was erased from history completely for his foolishness' and all that stuff. Anyway, lil stretcged out theory, i'm guessing each country probably has a different god of war and other deities.

The Nameless King, along with his dragon (The Storm King) are an optional boss from Dark Souls III. It is an extremely difficult battle to deal with, because it has two phases and with the right equipment strategy can pull you in for the long haul as many of his moves mirror that of Ornstein, Artorias, and Gwyn.
